Services
I offer interpreting services between British Sign Language (BSL) or Sign Supported English (SSE) and English. This can be in a variety of settings including online via Zoom, MS Teams or similar:
Office work including meetings, telephone interpreting and training
Conferences and trade shows
Health appointments
Educational settings including parent-teacher meetings, assessments as part of the EHCP process, university lectures and seminars
- Performance interpreting including theatre, musical elements, children's workshops, circuses
...anywhere that Deaf and hearing people need to communicate with one another.
Availability
I take on interpreting work during the week, at weekends and in the evenings. Please get in touch to have a chat about what you need. Interpreters tend to get booked up quickly. If you can, contacting me at least a couple of weeks before your date makes it more likely I will be available.
Rates
No two interpreting assignments are exactly the same. Rates will vary depending on many factors such as the amount of preparation required, timing of the assignment, location and so on. However as a rough guide, a half day will typically be between £145 - £175 and a full day will be between £290 - £320.
Fees may be higher if before 08:30am or after 17:00 or at any time on a weekend or a bank holiday. Please see Terms and Conditions for more details.
Travel
All travel will be included in your quote. Whilst I do have a car, I strive to keep my climate shadow as small as possible, and I love my bike! If I can do all or part of my journey on my bicycle I will. This may reduce travel costs to you.
